Q1. How do I know that I get Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis?
Patients diagnosis with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis is usually made by detecting elevated levels of TPOAb (anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies) and TGAb (thyroglobulin antibodes) in the serum. Patients get Hashimoto's Thyroiditis if their thyroid antibodies TPOAb and TGAb both higher than normal range in blood test.
Q2. What is the measning of this disease?
It measn patient’s antibodies can’t recognize their own thyroid gland. These antibodies take whole thyroid gland as an alien out side of body and attcack the thyroid cells until kill all the cells in thyroid gland.
That will make thyroid gland lose the function to produce thyroid hormone. This is why patients will end with serious hypothyroidism if they get high level ofthyroid antibodies.
Q3. Is there any med will be prescripted by Doctor?
No, there is not med will be prescripted by Doctor. Actually, some of Doctor will prescript steriod to Hashimoto’s patients. However, the steriod may cause even bigger problem to patients. So most of Doctor will not prescript it. This is why Doctor just wait and see!
Doctor will prescript thyroid hormone pills only when patient’s thyroid gland is serious attacked and become hypothyroidism.
Q4. Will TT help?
Yes, we suggest Hashimoto's patients taking TT. The reason is most of patients will get antibdoies start to lower down from 4th TT treatment. It is very GOOD new for patients with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. That means patients will not become serious hypothyroidism after their thyroid anitbodies lower to normal range. They can heve normal live again!
